The software for SeisMike should be able to perform the following tasks automatically:
- QA/QC of recorded multichannel field records in real time. This will allow proper parameterization for the subsequent pre-processing steps listed below.
- Pre-processing the field record to properly mute Direct-Air-Wave (DAW) arrivals.
- Generation of dispersion image over a wide range of frequency (e.g., 100 Hz – 30 kHz) and phase velocity (e.g., 100 m/s – 3000 m/s).
- Identification of the fundamental-mode asymmetric Lamb wave dispersion trend (A0) in the high-frequency range (e.g., 1 kHz – 30 kHz)
- Identification of the apparent-mode Rayleigh-wave dispersion trend in the low-frequency range (e.g., 100 Hz – 1 kHz).
- Applying a proper inversion algorithm to the identified dispersion energy trends to back-calculate the 1D shear-wave velocity (Vs) profile.
- Construction of 2D velocity (Vs) cross section from multiple 1D profiles.
The ParkSEIS-X (PSX) on-site module for microphones performs all above automatically in real time as field records are collected.
